We're partnering with a rapidly growing, profitable consumer AI startup with 5M+ users and over 500K daily active users.
They're seeking a Founding Engineer with strong full-stack or backend development skills and hands-on experience building AI agents and LLM-powered applications.
What You Will Do
Build and scale AI agent systems, including tool calling, memory, RAG, and evaluations.
Develop features across consumer-facing applications and backend infrastructure.
Work directly with founders on product architecture and development.
Build scalable systems supporting hundreds of thousands of daily users.
Contribute to open-source LLM deployment, fine-tuning, and GPU infrastructure.
Requirements
1–5 years of engineering experience, including meaningful startup or independent project work.
Strong full-stack or backend engineering skills.
Hands-on experience building AI agents, beyond basic LLM API integrations.
Experience with LLM tool calling, agent memory, retrieval, and prompt engineering.
Track record of launching products or projects with real users or measurable results.
Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup.
$150K–$250K base salary
1–3% equity
Opportunity to build and scale products used by millions.
Visa transfers considered, including H-1B and TN.
Work Environment: Fully on-site in NYC. Intense, high-ownership startup environment with a demanding schedule, often including weekends. No relocation assistance.
